Honeymoon perks Aer Lingus?

    Hi,

Friends of mine got married almost two years ago but could never afford a honeymoon until now. They have recently booked a trip to the states with Aer Lingus for their anniversary and are extremely excited about it.

I was just wondering if it would be worth my while sending an email to Aer Lingus to tell them it's their belated honeymoon. Will they just be like "And?" or could they possibly do something nice for them like in the movies and maybe give them complimentary champagne or something?

I know if it was a big airline like Virgin or something they probably would but what do ye think for Aer Lingus?

I've heard numerous stories of recently married couples who just kindly drop in they just got married while they are checking in and get upgraded to First Class :D

If they get a mini bottle of champagne they'll be doing well. They won't be getting upgraded. No point emailing HQ either - just let the cabin crew know when they board.

The only time I've ever heard of it working is on an episode of friends...

Aer Lingus customer service are chronic for responding to e-mail, so I wouldn't hold my breath!

Oldest trick in the book. Appeal to their human nature.

Best of luck with that. I wouldnt hold my breath.

The quickest way to get refused an upgrade is to ask for an upgrade but then again the old saying which I still use is:

"If you dont ask you will never know".

You'd certainly have a better chance of something with Aer Lingus than the lovely Ryanair. Worth a punt I'd say.
