Wedding Video Question

    Hi guys

    Probably an unusual question!

Getting married in June next year and really love the idea of having a wedding video. However what we'd want is to pay someone to shoot the wedding but I'd like to then take the raw footage and edit it myself. I've good experience in this and would really like to edit my own footage and have our own personal touch to it.

Has anyone done this before? Would most videographers not be into doing this?

    Cheers for any help!

    Simon

In my experience editing is the most tedious part for videographers (hence upt to 2 months waiting for finished product) so the chance to pass this job on would probably be welcome....

I used wedding-dvd.ie and they were amazing. The finished product was out of this world, we went for a very rocky feel and they produced exactly what we wanted. One thing however is that they had extras and as far as I recall one extra was to get the master footage, now I could be wrong but I am sure this was on offer. I was one of the first to use them so I got a good price but wouldnt know what they charge now.

The editing is actually the most complicated aspect of producing a wedding video. (if its done correctly of course) From experience Ive had to change the way I do my job. Some couples ask me to just record it and hand over the footage, while more recently Im getting a lot of couples coming to me with the footage from friends cameras and looking to have it put together in a professional way. (not always an easy task and certainly more expensive than just booking a recording)

But shop around for a deal.
