Hi, I have a slight bump at the top of my nose (im 20 male) just wondering if i went to an ENT doc, would he remove it? Its formed with the bone, can this be done under the medical card?

I have one similar, I've had mine since I was born and when I asked the Dr. about it before and was told that unless it's giving problems or it's changed in some way the surgeon won't remove it.

So I'm assuming the only way to have it removed would be to go to a plastic surgeon and ask if they can remove it, but then you'd probably have to pay as I don't think plastic surgery is covered by the Medical Card.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

    Ask your doctor about it.

If Its Preventing You From Breathing Correctly The Medical Card WILL Cover It ! If Not Start Saving Bro

Ok thanks for the replies, now let me tell you a little more......

I actually think that this widening of the top of my nose came about because I have alot of nasal polyps in both my nasal passages, I have had them for the past 8 years and didn't bother doing anyting about them due to fear. I admit my breathing is restriced in both nasal passages due to this. I HAVE seen my GP and he actually told me that when they remove the polyps, they will actually fix the hump too. I asked how and he said, just imagine when you are saving, (they will use a piece of equipment like a razor and smooth down the bump, apparently?) Sounds fantastic if true? Then maybe I could get away with using the medical card as my breathing is affeacted....

We can't really advise you any more than your GP can. I suggest you get more information about it from him. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
