    Here is my current situation:

    18 years old.

120 kilos (20 stone i think?). SERIOUSLY OBESE.

    180ish cm tall.

    Pre-diabetic(glucose levels going mad).

Joint and back pains due to obesity.

Stretch marks all over the body.

Have been eating like a pig for the last year especially.

I want to drastically change my lifestyle and im asking for your help.
Here is a diet i have been using for the last week or so:

Breakfast (10:00) : Fruit along with yoghurt or wholemeal bread with boiled egg or grilled smoked pork sausages(2).

Dinner (2:00) : chicken or fish with rice or cus cus or soup.

Supper (6:00) : apple or yogurt or toast with soft white cheese.

Drinking approx. 2 litres of water everyday.

I also exercise at home everyday for approx 20 mins and go to the swimming pool/sauna and steam room every second day and work my ass off.

I feel better after applying all these changes to my life even after a very short amount of time.

Is my diet healthy? Could you recommend a better one?

Could someone come up with a good excercise programme i should be using in the gym?(or just the machines i should be using for loosing the fat?)

Am i at the stage where excercise will do more bad than good to my body?

Thank you in advance for helpful answers and advice.

OP, I'm assuming you posted this in PI first so you could posted unregged and hope that it would be moved by one of the mods.

Given your apparent dire need for help I'm going to move the thread this time, but DO NOT try this again as the thread won't be approved. Also remember that you can't respond unregged in the fitness forum.

    Moved from PI.

Exercise won't do more bad than good, provided you do it right. Also, I doubt the steam room and sauna will help you lose weight, although the swimming is a good start.

What exercises do you do every day, the 20 minute ones? Could you do more than that? Maybe 30 minutes, then slowly do more and more each week. Could you go to the gym instead of doing them at home?

I suggest reading the stickies here, and I'm sure others here will post up some better advice, as they have done for me lately too. And don't be embarrassed, no need to go unregged. You're willing to make the change, thats commendable.

    Walking!

Try to walk everywhere; walk to work, college, the gym or wherever. If it really is too far, then catch the bus instead of using a car - it'll make you at least walk to the bus stop. Don't go to the nearest stop, walk one further, and get off one early.

Don't use a lift, use the stairs. If there's too many flights, walk as far as you can, then use the lift.

If you've nowhere particular to go, then just go for a walk. Try to do an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening; if you can't fit that in do as much as you can. Maybe a half hour stroll at lunchtime

If you think you haven't got the time, make the time. Get up earlier. After a while you'll find a routine and it will seem easy - you'll enjoy the fresh air and wonder why you weren't doing it before.

I've just watched my brother lose around 4 stone in 3 months, basically by cutting out chips and walking lots. He's in his fifties - it should be easier for you.

Keep up with watching the food intake, and keep up the gym work.
Good luck with it! You can do it, and you'll feel fantastic when you do.

    Cheers

you are having a lot of issues relating to you current size - i would suggest speaking to a doctor findout your fitness to train.
Also , see a trainer, rather then going on advice on forum. You will get too much conflicting info here.

There are a few trainers who post here, lurk for a while and you will see who they are - the investment will be worth it

Replace most of the rice or cous cous with Veg.
    Broccoli, cabbage, chard, etc.

Read the stickies as said above.
Its a lot easier to eat properly if you have good information.
Learn as much as you can about nutrition because how you eat is the most important.

Also I agree with Tomm0, before you start going to the gym or anything like that get more active in general life. Walk and do stuff active.
It will help with the joint pain and will probably get a good start on loosing the weight.

Also agreeing with Tomm0, I once lost 2 stone in 3 months by cutting out Bread. I was your age, overweight. I would probably have lost another stone or two from fixing my diet. Adjustments to you diet will help.

Also, don't hide. You will be anonymous enough on Boards.
Its great to admit you need to change stuff.
Its great that you have started.

You can do this and if you stick at it, you will do this.

Just a point on this, a lot of the changes you will be making will be lifestyle changes, they won't just be short term changes (don't worry it's not as dounting as it sounds). So it may help you to keep a fitness log / food diary. Whether you post it online or not is up to you.
That way you can track your progress and if you are having any issues you can ask some of the more 'in the know' posters.
Congratulations on your progress os far and best of luck!

Whenever I get stuck I refer to this:

If you have only been using this for a week I'd say it is probably a massive improvement compared to what your were pumping into you prior to this.
Stick with it for a while but it does need improvement in itself as some of the guys pointed out.
Here is a diet i have been using for the last week or so:

Breakfast (10:00) : Fruit along with yoghurt or wholemeal bread with boiled egg or grilled smoked pork sausages(2).

Thank you in advance for helpful answers and advice.

A GP visit to clear you for exercise would be next.

Ftr - it took a while to become obese. Don't expect it to drop off too soon.
But remember this - You are only 18.
You have time on your side to fix this properly.
So man up and do it.

Another thing I've found when trying to lose weight is never be hungry.

When I'm hungry I lose will power and start reaching for the crap; chocolate, crisps etc.

I'm not sure if others will agree me (I'm definitely not a dietician), but I reckon it's far better to overindulge on the good stuff (fruit & vegetables) than chuck a Mars bar down your neck.

your best bet is go to see an nutritionist , http://www.dnc.ie/ . the food your eating mite not be as healthy as you think , this girl is really good , she will give you a tailored made program and all you have to do is follow it . as said before its a lifetime change so be positive and give it time

okay, i lost 3 stone in 3 months by doing this(not easy!). with the motavation you seem to have it should be ok.

    your diet!
3 meals a day is a bad idea, your better off splitting them up into 6 smaller ones.
Porridge in the morning with a medium piece of fruit
at 10 have a a piece of chicken or protein shake
at lunch have a half cup of brown rice, mixed with tuna or chicken, with veg
before your workout eat a piece of chicken or protein shake,
after workout have your dinner, one large potato, tuna/chicken/steak and veg
before bed have a piece of fruit or a small bowl of corn flakes.
Protein is essential, be it from chicken or a shake. It helps your body repair damaged cells from your workout and gives you much needed energy.
I would also recommend multi-vitamins and cod liver oil.

As for training make sure you have a good mix of cardio and weights as doing weight training results in muscle fibres being teared. as a result of this your body works more to repair these and burns more fat. and you want something to show off when the weight is gone:)
I've been in your position mate, its hateful. but one that first stone is gone, you cant get enough of it, it feels great!!
Just stick with it, do what i did and but a pair of jeans two sizes to small for you, and compare the fitting every two weeks. the results are crazy!
