Bf like to tell me what I can wear

I am a gay man with a bf who is very good to me we get on great together and I love him to bits. The problem is that he does not like me to dress up in sexy gear and when I head out for a night out he gets jealous of my outfits and tells me to tone it down a little. I sometimes bring a second outfit when i am out with my friends and wear what he thinks i should before I leave the house. I am a very shy quiet person and my bf is the opposite and my friends tell me to ditch him and go it alone as they tell me I am gorgous and could have anyone. Before we met I found it very hard to chat up other guys. I was on top of the moon when I met him because he is good looking and strong whereas I am slim and flat(IMO)
The last night I was out with my friends I met a guy who was really nice and we got on great. He asked me back to his place and I did where we kissed and fooled around nothing too heavy and since then I have wanted to meet up again. I really love my current bf but I am into this other guy as well. Thanks for reading

Is this a wind-up? You're fooling around on your boyfriend, but the problem is that he doesn't like how you dress?

If you're for real, it doesn't sound like you're ready to be in a relationship at all- sounds like you're using him to help you with your insecurity issues, while still going out and playing the field.

If you're not for real, well done mate- you got me.

I am not winding anyone up. I bought some white linen pants at xmas to head out and when I put them on he said there were too revealing and told me to wear the white denim ones he bought for my birthday. I say no no way and I sneak them into my bag and headed out for the night. I see your point that I have cheated on him with someone else and I love him very much what should I do. thanks for reading

It sounds like you love how he changed you and how he makes you feel, rather than actually loving him.

I do love him but he controls me in this way how do I get a level playing field with him on this. He has helped me alot with my self esteem and socially as I was very self concious of myself and my sexuality and when I met him he was so strong for me that is why I want this to work and not leave him for a one night stand

It sounds like you're pretty much whipped to be honest.

You need to stand up for yourself, wear what you want.

    He's trying to control you.
    You've already cheated on him.
Call it a day and do everyone a favour.
You can't rely on someone else for your confidence.
    Move on.

I think if he is telling you what to wear, you have cheated on him and are showing interest in someone else, I think ye both need to go your seperate ways,,,

You learn something from every relationship you have, so this has not been time wasted, as you said he has given you confidence which you really didnt have, I would imagine that with this new given confidence you prob will have a ball as a single guy

OP if your boyfriend tells you what you should or should not wear on your nite out without him then that IMHO is control bullying.

I think if you want to remain in the relationship and grow in it you must be strong enough to challenge this behaviour in a positive way. ie. don't cheat but dress how you want to from now on.

Test yourself and your relationship. Don't forget your BF must be very insecure himself to want you to tone down your look.
