Was thinking of getting a subscription to the Economist as it seems like a pretty goood deal, and is a handy read for the commute.

Does anyone currently have a subscription delivered to an address in Ireland? If so, on what day do you receive it and how reliable is it? Given that our national postal service can let us down at times, I don't want to be receiving the copy when it is nearly out of date.

i had a subscription till april.

for me, in dublin, it came every tuesday, i think it hits the news stands on monday.

twice in a year it never arrived, but i emailed them and they offered either a replacement copy, or to extend the subscription by a week.

I live in South Dublin and it comes like clockwork on a Monday. It is published on a Friday so I don't have it over the weekend but it's still up to date.

If you live or work in Dublin City (ie. Dujblin 1 or 2 postcodes) the Economist has a dedicated courier who will drop it into you on the Friday. If you don't, you'll have to wait for the postman. As I said though, my postman is pretty good and I get it every monday morning.

I get it every Monday but on a bank holiday I sometimes get it on a Saturday. Thought it was published every Thursday. Would like to get it for the weekend but cannot get those postmen to work on a Saturday for me. I've had no gaps in 14 months.

I get it on the Monday too (based in nth Kildare). Never missed an issue unlike my monthly top gear sub which was a joke of a service.

Top tip: opt for the student subscription. It's 90 or 99 quid a yr which is a very cheap per issue price.

    Good savings to be had.
