Anyone else having problems with Channel 4HD over the past week or so? Signal dropping out as it drops from 80 percent down to zero and then back up and then down as so on varying in strength constantly. All other signals ok on 28, 19 and 13 degrees. Using a FTA sky card in a Clarke Tech Combo 5000c.

Sounds like interference of some sort, such as DECT phone or GSM mast etc. If there is a DECT phone nearby, turn it off or move it. Otherwise try better shielded cable such as PF100.

Thanks Apogee but no luck. Tried disconnecting the phone, cable is TX100. All other freqs are perfect except this one 11798 H. No problem at this freq from 19 degree and all was well until about a week ago so something has changed. Not just a HD problem because all other HD channels are fine. Is there anyone receiving Channel 4 HD without a problem?

So when you tune to Sky Deutschland 11798, H, 27500 on 19E you see no signal fluctuations? Theoretically it could be Terrestrial Interference which is hitting the dish when it's pointed at 28E, but not 19E - although it's a bit unlikely.

Are you using the internal card reader in the Clarke Tech with the FTV card or are you using a cam? What happens when you take out the card?

If you're using a cam, then we had a similar problem reported with the MVision HD a while back - it's some sort of firmware/software problem in the receiver.

I had this problem originally on the Mvision, turned out to be tuning drift in the receiver when it got hot. I suggest trying the receiver from stone cold and see if it's ok for a minute or two before it starts to do this. I also found problems on other channels on 28E, have you a genuine sky sub card too? Try that late at night on Disney Cine HD, after 12 the previews are clear if you have any sky package except FTV.

Thanks Guys, sounds as if I've developed the same problem found on the M-Vision and by the guys on the other forum. My card is a FTV ex british sub (I have 2 of them) not using a cam. Both were working perfectly for the past 12 months and are still ok except for CH4 HD. All DVB-S2 transponders are swinging madly on the quality display but the signal strength stays constant so with or without cards the channel is not going to be stable. Not a heating issue won't work hot or cold. Firmware is 162p which has been stable for 6 months. Can't figure out what has changed but something has.
