Non iphone SIM in old iphone?

I have just got the new iphone and want to set up my wife with my old phone.

She is also on O2 contract. When I insert her SIM, I get prompted to connect to iTUnes, which detects the old phone and prompts me to go through the activation process. I don't want to do this obviously as it might affect my new phone account...??

Do I need to unlock the iphone? If I do, can she use iTunes to get her music?

Any hints or tips appreciated and apologies if this is already covered!

If the iPhone was bought from O2 in Ireland and your wife is on O2, it will work fine; just follow the instructions in iTunes. There's no need to jailbreak it or unlock it. The activation process will not affect your contract; that system was only in the US & UK.
