with all due respect, ye(waterford) won't put it up to kilkenny like we(galway) do. nothing against waterford as i'm not saying galway will beat ye, but we tend to put it upto the cats more than anybody else. but by all means if ye beat us, hammer kilkenny!!!;)

i think if waterford beat galway kk will give them a worse going over than last year i hope im wrong but kk would tear the waterford defense to shreads

Are the semi's pre-determined already. The Sunday Game panelists seem to suggest that the winners of Dublin/Limerick would play Tipp and the winners of Galway/Waterford play the Cats. Is this confirmed?

If Dublin win they will def play Tipp, and KK will def play the winners of the other game, but if Limerick and Galway win there will be a draw to see which of them play Tipp or KK.

Sorry bud, but it's always been the Munster champions vs Leinster runners up or the team that beats them and vice versa. So if Limerick win they'll definitely meet Tipp.

No, i have a pain in my face from trying to explain to people,if Galway and Limerick win through there WILL be a draw.if the Dubs win they will play Tipp, if Galway win through they Will play KK.the only certainty is that KK can't play Dublin and Tipp can't play Waterford.

We should all complain to the gaa and demand they tell us the real format!

Bit of a contradiction there tippspur. If Galway must meet Kilkenny (assuming they beat Waterford), then Limerick must meet Tipp. No draw required.

Also, ever since formats with two quarter finals were introduced back in the 90's, it's always been the case that provincial finalists or their conquerors meet the opposite provincial winners. The same occured last year when Waterford met Tipp (the Munster champs) cause we bet Wexford (the Leinster finalists) in the quarters. Similarly, the Munster finalists (Clare) lost to Cork in the quarters, so they met the Leinster champs. So I really see no reason why they would change it now.

the draw is fixed end of story Galway or waterford play KK dublin or limrick play tipp this is like ground hog day

Wrong thread and it is hardly a takeover. They asked if they could play and the GAA said yes.

But if Waterford win they cant play Tipp, right? So if Galway win how could they face KK??

the rule where you can't play the same team twice doesn't apply in the semi .

Theres no such rule at any stage, the only restriction is you cannot play a team that you already played in a provincial final i.e Dublin cant play KK and W'ford cant play Tipp, so if Limerick and Galway win there will like tippspur said be a draw to decide who plays KK or Tipp. The reason it is different this year is because of the expansion of the Leinster Championship it was considered more suitable.

Well if thats the case and there is a draw then the GAA has forgotten to tell the entire hurling world. Columnists up and down the country in both local and national newspapers, never mind the Sunday Game lads, have all been talking about both sides of the draw as if it was set in stone.

Might be worth dropping them an email and see what the story is. The more people that get onto them about the greater chance of a response, so email fixtures@gaa.ie if you have a spare minute or two.

If I posted this in the wrong section I do apologise - Mods feel free to move.

Do any waterford heads know if there are tickets on sale in Walsh Park this week.

I can only see stand tickets on ticket master and I am looking for Terrace tickets.

    Thanks in advance!

11am tomorrow morning according to UTD, but I haven't heard that confirmed on WLR yet.

I'd imagine terrace tickets would be pay-at-the-gate though. I'd be surprised if there's more than 30-35,000 at the match.

ah stop, i'm sure you'd sacrafice dublin hurling this year for a galway v kk final, anyway dublin have the football .:)

As a Galway man it's hard to know who to want to win, obviously Galway to beat Waterford would be great for a start :D Then I think either way Tipp will be as hard bet as Kilkenny. Though they'd get an extra week or two to rest before the semi if they meet Tipp. I must say a Galway vs Kilkenny final is tantalising but I don't know if we'd beat them in the final and if we do lose I'd rather see Tipp win than see Kilkenny get four !!

Anyway it's a moot point because Limerick won't beat Dublin, and neither of them will win their semi. My money is on a Galway vs Tipp final, be nice to see some new colours up in Croker :)

where were ye looking for tickets?, because there was a pub just beside the ground that had a sign saying ''Tickets on sale here''. Were the people at the ground not aware of this?, not ask any locals?

It was nowhere near full and the terrace we were in had PLENTY of space in it

Anyway, lets try get back on topic. Noel Connors is a major injury doubt after doing his knee in at a recent training session. The pessimist inside of me fears he'll miss out, but I can't help but think there's a bit of gamesmanship going on. They said the exact same thing about Molumphy and he lasted all 70 mins against Tipp. I'm nearly sure Connors is starting.

I don't expect the team to alter that much, the only real questions are a) will Declan Prendergast continue at full back and b) who'll take Jake Kennedy's place at corner forward. Personally, I don't see Prender starting. It's not as is if the Tipp match was just a once-off bad performance or anything. And the fact is if he makes the same mistakes on Sunday we'll more than likely lose.

I could see Kearney taking his place there. He's filled in at full back before and he's generally a very safe pair of hands. I'd go with him at no3 with Richie Foley taking his place at left wing back. The rest of the backs picks itself. Murphy, Connors, Browne and Brick.

In midfield, Sully will continue to start, but Moran really didn't have a great match in the Munster final. I don't think he's worth dropping though because I rate him higher than our other midfield option (Nagle) while the other midfielders (Brick and Molumphy) are required elsewhere.

In the forwards, Kelly, S.Prender, Molumphy and Mullane are certain starters. Nagle has had a poor season so far but it looks like Davy is persisting with him so he'll probably start too. The 6th position is up for grabs though, and its probably between Eoin McGrath and Dan Shanahan, with Dans younger brother Maurice (whose been flying with the U21s) as an outside shot. I'd go with Eoin myself, but we'll see what happens.

I assume you heard that from upthedeise yeah? There's also people on the site that seem to believe that Adrien Power will be in goal and no U21s will be involved whatsoever because of the final the following Wednesday (ironic considering Power is an U21 himsef!) A lot of them seem to think they're "in the know", so I'll be waiting for the official team comes out tomorrow before making any judgements.

Kevin Moran in the half forwards would be suicidal though.

Does anybody know if theres any bus or mini-bus going to this match from galway? I think its a disgrace theres no mode of public transport to this match so effectively those of us without cars are left stranded.
