Have a brother that has been in a psychiatric ward but has been out for a year on meds. He's been doing brilliantly but there have been signs lately that its starting to reoccur. Is it lekely that the medications would loose their effectiveness after a period of time? Does anyone know anyone on meds for a long time with good results? Or any other thoughts or comments welcome.

Thanks tbh. Just found out he may have stopped taking his meds lately. not 100% sure but that could explain a lot.

it could for sure. It's definitely hard to take medication to keep you feeling well. Taking medication to get rid of symptoms has a very clear cause-and-effect, but taking them to keep symptoms at bay, indefinitely, can be hard.
