    if you've uninstalled and re-installed it you must insert the opriginal disk the first time you try to open it again.

    What version of reason have you got running? - have you installed all the updates?

    This problem maybe because you are trying to run a reason file made in a different version.

    If your'e up to date, and 'as it was before' then i suggest putting in a ticket to reason themselves as there's very little on the net about this error (and reason is happy in vista)

    using reason 3.0

    havnt done any updates with reason, exact same as it was before when i had it installed first, except now its not willing to get installed because of this error

    The simplest thing to do in these situations is talk to the people who either have the answers or will find the answers i.e. call Propellerhead Support.

    Your problem may be related to vista .Vista has a lot of default security which may hinder the installation of certain programs .

    You need to install the program as an administrator ,so reinstall reason again ,this time instead of clicking on the exe file ,right click move the pointer down and select " run as administrator" .

    You should do this for every program you wish to run in vista ,doesn't apply to Xp.

    Talking to a friend of mine apparently it is a corrupt registry problem ,which occurs when a new installation overwrites a half installed program . the result being cluttered registry entries. The only way to fix it is with a registry application .

    Do yourself a big favor and just get Reason 4, it is way better anyway, Reason 3 is old skool at this stage.
