    lads hears the story
    bought i pod touch in the US ,synched it with my brothers computer in new york
    have it home ,reset all the settings and content,i suspect battery may have died near the end of it
    anyway the fecking thing wont register with my computer now and all that keeps coming up is the the USB wire pointing at the itunes logo
    wot the feck can i do
    please help

    Try putting it into recovery mode, this should allow your computer to recognize it again.

    Try this
    1- shutdown your itouch with the hard reset "home button and power for 10 second"
    2- connect the usb cable to the pc but NOT to the itouch
    3- open itunes
    4- while the iphone is off, press the home button for 5-10 seconds then plus the other end of the white connection cable into the itouch
    5- do not remove your finger from the home button
    6- itunes will detect it and you can now restore it
