STUPID STUPID IPHONE 3GS!!!! Recovery/Restore

Well, my brand new Iphone 3GS which isn't even a week old is giving me a head ache. Last night, i didn't have my charger and stitched my phone of with 7% of the power remaining.

So this morning i tried to switch it on - nothing, then i found a charger, plugged it in and....nothing.

So i plugged it into computer and it told me i needed to recover it, i.e., back to factory settings. So i did and it totally wipes the phone.

Then Itunes asks if you want to restore from my settings on Itunes, so i did - this installs your apps but not photos or music or contacts!!!! Lucky for me i synced my contacts with Gmail so i didn't loose them.

Has anyone else had this problem? If the phone powers down the next time will i need my PC to bring it back to Life?

I'm going to ring Apple Support tomorrow.

Sounds like an odd one alright!
BTW it should have synced your contacts, messages, photos and apps... and also music if you have selected to sync your music. To do this though you would have needed to sync your phone before it crashed..maybe you didn't have the settings set up for syncing?

Mine only went completely flat yesterday. No issues after plugging it in, came back no problem.

As for the restore not working, do u have all the relavent check boxes ticked in iTunes, by default, most are off I think. Again, once all the boxes are ticked, an assuming u have a recent upto date backup, I can't see any reason why your contacts etc weren't restored??
