Video freezes over wireless NAS

    I'm having trouble streaming video from my NAS device (Agestar NCB3AST XC4677) over a wireless LAN.

    Video plays fine for 1 or 2 minutes before freezing and crashing VLC. It happens 100% of the time. I have tried using a huge buffer and tried using mPlayer also, but the problem persists.

    There are no issues when I connect the laptop directly over ethernet, so the wireless definitely seems to be causing the problem.

    The speed over ethernet is 2.8 MB/s, and 2.0 MB/s over wireless. Pretty poor speeds for NAS I know but nevertheless more than capable for streaming video. All the files are standard def Xvid.

    What might be causing this?
