    Hello all.

Since upgrading to IE8 (I don't know WHAT possessed me) my desktop wallpaper is off centre, and dropping to the bottom - right of the screen. Mentions of registry +active wallpaper settings on Internet but very vague.

    Anyone come across this?

Do you tink it's a software or hardware issue? Try degaussing the monitor firstly, and see if that works. You should be able to do that t hrough pressing the buttons that [should] appear on your monitor itself.

Yep, tried all that. Apparently it's an issue (when you Google it). Something to do with Active Desktop and this IE8. MS again. Sigh.

I dislike IE8 - It's got too many features and is slower than IE7. I don't know what to say really... ...maybe switch off active desktop if you can, and disable/delete as many of those 'Add-On' features that IE seems to crave using.

Thanks for that - I'll give it a try. I read somewhere on another forum that IE8 interferes with the active desktop registry settings.

I'd say that all IE's do that, but they seem to have become progressively worse since IE3.0 (which I enjoyed using). As far a I remember, IE4.0 was the first to actually integrate into the way that you browse through folders in My Computer. After that, there have always been glitches, becoming greater as the IE version number becomes higher too! Still, I hate using Firefox!
