For my money, that's an absymal undercard. But the top two matches should be , at the very least, fascinating stuff. And I imagine it's going to end up being a noteworthy show.

To be fair the two tag matches are pretty good but why Styles and Daniels are being stuck with Nash and Morgan is beyond me. And the worst thing is I fear Nash may go over. Wednesday night 9-1 on Bravo 2 for all those interested though.

Your best bet is next Saturday morning but no schedule goes that far forward so it can't be checked until tomorrow (why the Sky TV Guide will go that far).

I expected Styles V Joe and Nash V Sting instead of the other way round

I think MEM might walk out with all the title :(

    Terrible card.

Dont understand why Foley is constantly main-eventing.

I really hope Styles retains, even if the title is worthless. Sad to say there is not even ONE match on that card that I'm looking forward to.

    Meh.

Surely I'm not the only one intrigued by Angle vs. Foley? Their first singles bout and all that.

The tag matches should provide entertainment.

And Lashley will be coming in too; I look forward to him dropping jobbers on their heads with suplexes and having realistic matches with Angle, Joe and the likes. Just give him a mouth-piece and he'll be fine.

I'm sure other people will disagree, but I find the problem with any, and all of Foley's matches is that he simply shouldn't be there. His mobility and skill is out the window, and for me, he should have stayed retired. At the very least, he certainly isn't championship/main event material. Useful to the company? For sure- but not looking awful in stunt matches.

That said- I am genuinely curious about this one, because he knows that he'll have to pull a straightforward quality bout out of the bag, his first in years. I'm genuinely interested to see if he can do it.

The thing about the tag matches, is that I imagine, while they may well deliver on the night- people just aren't interested in them going in because they can't be arsed with the storylines.

From curiousity value alone, Angle/Foley is fascinating. If its an abortion it will still be interesting in a car crash kinda way. You'd wonder if a guy like Angle is capable of slowing down and working around Foley's lack of mobility. Its one of my major beefs with Angle, he seems incapable of slowing down and working at a pace slower than 100 miles per hour. Foley needs smart workers in there with him that won't expose the fact he's half crippled. Sting managed it a few months ago fairly well, but can Angle?

I think so. He's had enjoyable bouts with the Big Show, for Gods sake!

Foley on his match with Angle:
Yes, it doesn't get any bigger for me than this match with Kurt Angle on Sunday. I guess I've known since signing with TNA that this match would one day come - but nonetheless, I'm not sure I'm comletely ready for it. I've had some big matches over the last few years, but there was always some kind of security blanket for me - thumb tacks, barbed wire, camera man I could drop kick, etc. This time it's just me and one of the greatest wrestlers of all time; no gimmicks, no tricks. Kurt still wrestles each match as if Olympic gold is on the line, which leads to some really high standards. Hopefully, I can live up to those standards.

Expect to see a few things you haven't seen from me in a while - like in more than ten years. Every once in a while, I need to go back into the Foley vault, especially from my independent days in '94 and '95, and remind myself that I can do more than throw the forearms in the corner and pull the sock out of my shorts. Not that I won't do them both on Sunday, but I plan on making my offensive game a little more balanced.
With this being a huge match for you and for the TNA World Heavyweight Title – you don’t do many singles matches. How do you think you will fair cardiovascular-wise? How are you going to hang with Kurt?

That’s the thing. It’s a big question mark and I was even thinking in the pre-match promo of being honest and being the one guy that has severe doubts. Of course, right now, they’re all performance-related and they’re not concerning wins and losses so I’ll tweak that a little bit. I’ve talked to athletes who will admit after contests that they were very apprehensive or maybe even a little fearful but their never allowed to say that. So it might be breaking a rule. I’m sure some people will be like “you can’t promote a match by saying you can’t win”. But it’s going to be really tough. Kurt is still in the cardio shape he was, more or less, when he won the gold medal and I’m not. I’ve been having, I think, some pretty good matches with some smoke and mirrors and guts. But I don’t know, this is going to be a big test. I’m confident that we’re going to have a good match. It will definitely be different and, who knows, maybe we’ll end up surprising a lot of people and have something really good or you may just see – speaking of Mother Nature – Mother Nature and Father Time kind of do a double team on me that I’ll never forget.

I know you’re a master of changing your game. When you had to go hardcore, you went hardcore. When you had to go technical, you went technical. It’s going to be interesting to see you go out there and go against one of the guy considered the best technical wrestlers that has been around in the last 20 years to see how you’re going to keep up and do what you have to do to get the win or put on a good match.

One of the things I used to pride myself on was that I could have a good match with people of varying styles. So I always had the feeling of a Cactus Jack or Mankind match but even looking back years later - Shawn Michaels was thinking about the match we had in 1996 and he kind of liked the element that he thought was added to his game after we had wrestled a couple of big matches. And Kurt is the same way in that he’s a technical wrestler but he’s had incredible matches with people of all different styles. It’s really going to be interesting. People think I’m joking when I say I’m going to do a little bit of technical wrestling but I do have a few things up my sleeve. Sometimes, I’m surprised when I go back and watch old matches at how many various things I used to do and, to tell you the truth, in these comeback matches over the last several years, you kind of rely on what’s comfortable. I realized I can do more than just the ten forearms and the knee in the corner, the double-armed DDT and the sock. So we’ll see how it goes but I’d be lying if I said I was supremely confident about how this was going to turn out.

Foley does seem pretty worried about how this one may turn out. As for why he's in the main event, Foley still has decent name value and he's never faced Angle one on one so TNA would be stupid not to book Foley against Angle on PPV. To be fair, all the matches on this show with maybe the exception of Styles and Nash have had some decent backstory and build, just look at Abyss vs. Dr. Stevie that match has been building for the best part of five or six months.

By the way, Bravo are showing a four hour TNA show next Saturday morning from 11am - 3 so odds are that'll be Victory Road (though all hardcore stuff will be edited out but that shouldn't be much of a problem as there isn't a gimmick match on the card).

The PWTorch.com Newsletter reports that Kurt Angle was unable to wrestle at Saturday night’s TNA house show in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Kurt said he suffered a groin injury on a movie set this week.

Kurt had trouble walking, but he did sign autographs after the show.

He is scheduled to wrestle in the main event of Sunday’s TNA Victory Road PPV against Mick Foley in a title match. There’s currently no indication of a lineup change for the event.

Angle will work no matter how bad the injury, theres no talking sense to him about stuff like this. Whether thats foolhardy or admirable is debateable, personally I think hes nuts to keep putting his health on the line like this.

The crowd look like they couldn't give a sh!t, very anti-climatic.

Machismo Fan, (or anyone else) I presume you've seen this by now, how was Angle/Foley? Very intrigued to see what they came up with.

It was interesting. Good but not great and the poor crowd heat hurt it. Kind of story of the PPV, completely average.
