Hypothetical situation - Fraud?

    Hypothetical situation

    1.Irish citizen goes to work in non eu country last September.Contract was for 10 months,until July.

    2.Contract is renewed and will be on holidays until September when work restarts.

    3.Returns back to Ireland while on holiday and goes on the dole.(no intention of looking for work as has already been paid for the summer by current job)

    4.Is this benefit fraud ?

    PS:He informed the social welfare office he is home for good and looking for work here

    Yes, it's fraud.

    Anyone who isn't genuinely available for and seeking work yet accepting jobseeker's benefit/allowance is committing fraud.

    How is that even a question? Of course its fraud! The OP mentioned that they were not genuinely seeking or available for work. Simple as.
