Making Software Available in Gaeilge (Irish)

    Hello All,

    First of all apologies for this being my first post. Hopefully the content makes up for it.

    I am a Product Manager for PC Tools in Blanchardstown (PC Tools is a Symantec company).

    I am posting this because I am currently running a program that allows our users (and you, our potential users) to contribute translations for our products in any language. These "language packs" are then offered free for anyone to use. All of this is done through our site, http://together.pctools.com

    This has allowed us to offer our products in languages that, although not usually possible through traditional methods, can be offered to add value to those preferring to use a product in their native tongue (No matter how many people use it).

    Both the product and the language pack are available for free. The initial product is one called ThreatFire which blocks malware from even getting to your machine (Rather then having to try to detect or remove it afterwards).

    We have been running this program for just over a month and although we have seen 18 additional languages from Albanian to Vietnamese, Irish has not been attempted. I was hoping you may be able to help by either participating or publicizing this project amongst your fellow Irish speakers.

    Inclusion in our offering in this way has been seen by many as a way to promote their native language.

    Jason, I'll post this on our Irish forum aswell. I know a few guys who are involved with Gaeilge translations for open-source software.
