Long term Visa for Vietnam?

Hey everyone, just posting this up here to try and get some sort of an idea without actually going to an embassy! Is it possible to get a visa that's longer than a month? All of the information I've been finding is suggesting this is the longest possible. I'd be looking for about a 6 month visa..

I had to travel to Vietnam twice within 3 months and I think my visa was for 3 months. But that was 10 years ago and I am in the US. Best to call the embassy or search around the net.
