    A friend of mine knows somebody who is selling starview 4 boxes so how can i easilly tell if they are not a clone??

    Easy. Ring 1908 and give them serial no of box. They will sort it 4u.

    Theft of Pay TV service or assisting in Theft of pay TV service is a Crime. Though usually lower penalty than Copyright Infringement. Which these boxes do also.

    It doesn't matter if they are real or a Clone. Unless you have a UPC (NTL/Chorus) card & subscription for what you watch and written permission to use such a box you are breaking the law.

    It is criminal to advise people how to break the law.
