Sorry i know you probably get posts like this all the time but here I go anyways.....

Im a 17 year old girl and recently had sex for the first time with my boyfriend of 6 months...We used a condom and as far as I know we used it correctly and it deffinetly didn't break. Problem is my period is usually like clockwork but its already 5/6 days late. I am worried sick as the last thing i want is to be pregnant and have read on some sites that your period is often late after having sex for the first time. Do you think i should be worried because i can't sleep at night worrying about it at the moment. Thanks for any replies i get

Do a pregnancy test. It's probably worry that's made you late but you need to know and that is the quickest way of putting your mind at rest.

It's my understanding that stress and worry can delay onset. Hopefully this is the case.

Hi Op, I imagine that it could be stress thats causing it to be late, especially if you have used contraception properly, Condoms are not 100% guaranteed but in general reduce risk of pregnancy by about 95%, (I think). Have you had any other unusual stress such as exams? That could also be a factor.
