I've got no idea, but I don't think I'll be taking part in it.

What the hell is a cow dung lottery?

If it is the same very exciting game as they do in belgium, it means that a field is made into squares and you can choose one and if you choose the one the cow sh1t in the first you won.

It doesn't get any more boring!!!

Where in Coolaney is all this happening?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,660 ✭✭✭magnumlady

The bands are in a marquee (didn't say on the leaflet where it is...but Coolaney is a small place so I'm sure it's easy to find).
BBQ/disco is at the Happy Landing.
    Quiz at the Mountain Inn.
Rest of the things in the football pitch or Main street.

AHEM! Where's the mods when you need them?!!!!

Anyhuuuw, the marquee is out the back of O'Gradys pub on the main street (is it called a "main" street if it's the only street, or just "the street"?!!).. though the music tonight & tomorrow has been postponed due to the demise of one of the comittee members... supposed to be rescheduled for next Monday & Tuesday.

In the meantime, there's a table quiz on Thursday in the Mountain Inn & a duck race & barbeque in the Happy Landing on Friday.

    The show must go on...

    Oh no who died?

Btw the street is called Main Street.

I don't know his name, but he was ill for a long time (according to the lady in O'Gradys) & was 80, so he'd had a good run out. Still, sad to hear - may he rest in peace.

It is a shame. I was talking to someone today who said they should maybe have still had the festival but had a minutes silence.

"Famous Seamus and the Donkey Engine" ?? Sounds like fun

That cow dung lottery could be really interesting if you had to sit on your square

Famous Seamus has been postponed till next week.

Are you missing a "h" from "sit"? That'd make it more interesting!

You were right about the cow dung lottery.....they mark the field into squares and if the cow craps in your square you win.
    It's on at 9.30 tonight.
I was at the festival earlier but didn't stay too long.
