So I met a really nice guy, hes really sweet and I think it could work, however I m thinking a lot about the fact that he s here on holidays and going back to the continent in a few weeks.
I could just enjoy whatever we can, however It feels like setting one self up to get totally heartbroken as I dont think I m interested in a long distance thing at all.
BTW, this is really early days but, I ll have to make a decision
    Advice?

If you dont think you can hack the upset when he goes then dont start it.... Self preservation is key here.

If you lead your life trying to 'self preserve' you'll never experience all the joys and pitfalls that love and life can bring.....In my opinion!

I was only dating an Irish guy for 2 months when he told me he was going to the continent to work. I was devestated. He asked if we could still continue to see each other but there was no pressure if I did not want to. I agreed thinking that it wouldn't last longer than a couple of months at most. I knew what we had was special and I didn't want to let it go without a fight. So we started the rollercoaster that is long distance relationships. 7 years later we are engaged and due to be married next year!!

My advice would be to go with your gut feeling. These types of relationships are never easy but they can be wonderful. The thing is that it can't go on like that forever and one of you will have to move to be closer to the other eventually (if things get that serious).

You will get to know him pretty quickly through long calls, emails and txts so you may find that either you dont like him enough to continue with it or you will fall madly in love. Either way would you rather give it a go or end up regretting that you may have let someone special go???
    Good luck!
