For those of you who work in the industry.

When applying for positions, do candidates ever include Excel models?

I have been working on one in my spare time over the last few weeks. It's fairly basic. It just optimizes portfolio allocations and can adjust positions based on required risk or return versus a benchmark of ones choice.

I was thinking about including it with job applications I intend on sending out (to showcase what I hope is talent).

Also, if you work in front office, I would love to send it to you so you could rate it/slate it. Please let me know by reply or PM.
