Is my ipod touch bricked?

    Question for those in the know please.
    Got an ipod touch on ebay, some of the apps on board were not functioning, went to reset it, now all i can do is switch it on and get the apple logo, i cannot do anything else with it .... on off on off thats about it.
    Is this what bricked means?
    Has anyone any advice about how i resolve this please
    ps, when i plug into my pc, and others with the supplied usb, it is not recognised as being there

    what do you mean by "reset" it...what exactly did you do to reset it.

    i think you may have tried to restore it.

    I did the following when my iphone went the way your ipod touch went

    1- shutdown your itouch with the hard reset "home button and power for 10 second"
    2- connect the usb cable to the pc but NOT to the itouch
    3- open itunes
    4- while the iphone is off, press the home button for 5-10 seconds then plus the other end of the white connection cable into the itouch
    5- do not remove your finger from the home button
    6- itunes will detect it and you can now restore it
    7- finally you need to jailbreak it again..follow the web instructions

    Worth a shot.

    Sorry i wasnt specific. restore is what i tried to do. cork 45, thanks a million, i'm doing that right now, and itunes is downloading the software.
