Not sure if this is the right place to post but..

My 75 year old mother wants a laptop computer, new nothing fancy 17 in screen with MS office and wireless internet without spending the earth.

Anyone recommend a reasonably priced laptop in the greater Dublin area?

Well I did a quick komplett.ie check and this is what came up matching as cheapest (as reference): MSI VR705-044NL17", T3400(2.16GHz) 3GB 250GB WLAN for 565.

Now you did not write an exact price range but in general you should also be able to call around to Curry, PC World etc. and compare their prices and haggle it down by playing them out against each other over the phone (been a few threads about it here as well).

Thanks nody but she is 75, she wants to walk into a shop, have a look and walk out with it and she wants me to drive her around looking at them (allways a pleasure, genuine).

Make sure to get her a mouse with it.
My mother uses a fairly low spec Acer and she's fine with it, but had trouble with the touchpad mouse. My father was the same - I think the 'proper' mouse is much easier to manage.

THanks for the move Mod, couldn't find the right category and no I would never swap my mother for a laptop.

I'll have a look at the acer.

Toshiba are a good brand, we've got two here and we like them. Get one with I think its called a TRU-BRIGHT screen, everything looks very nice on it. I'd go along with the mouse suggestion, I use a Logitech mouse works great.
