Am I the only person who thinks how this chap is being buried is nothing short of a crime?

Awesome wrestler with awesome mic skills, a great heel, in my eyes anyway.

He's hardly got awseome mic skills in fairness.

Hes a solid hand in the ring and he probably doesn't deserve to be pinned by a midget, but when the midget is more over than he is and when he's never really drawn a dime in his life, or gotten over without hanging onto the coattails of someone else (ie Eddy, Edge , Vicky) the writings pretty much on the wall for him.

Lets be honest here, if Eddie hadn't died he'd probably have been future endeavoured a few years back.

To be honest at least he appears on TV regularly. Guys like Kidd, Carlito and Noble have all been pinned by Horny, it happens.
Now Kendrick on the other hand is someone that should be worried right now....

Indeed, especially given his fondness for indulging himself in the aul' wack tabaccy. ROH could really do with him at the moment, actually.

Chavo will have a job for as long as he wants one, but there is very little a technically sound cruiserweight heel can do for the WWE. Ideally he'd be used in a cruiserweight or tag team division, but neither of them exist anymore.

Chavo would be utilised best in ECW, getting new talent over. While there he helped launch Bourne and had a great run with Punk (the Mexican celebration and the bay of mexico match, coupled with entertaining singles matches). It's best we forget his work with Kane.

Any idea what London is up to at the mo?

    Agreed.

Awesome may have ben on overstatement on his mic skills, but I've always found him pretty entertaining.

Took a few indy bookings once his no compete clause was up, primarily for PWG. Was booked to appear on a big show for them tagging with Danielson and was also booked to appear for TNA tagging with Amazing Red. Then suffered an injury and had to cancel all his bookings, thats the last I heard.

Word has it he hasn't the heart for wrestling he once had and would be happy to take the odd indy booking to pay the bills and leave it at that. Its a pity really as he's hugely talented and would easily get bookings all over the world if he so wanted. But at the end of the day, the guy has to do what makes him happy.

This is true in all fairness, the he was a good base for Bourne at the time.

Do you really think he has a job for life? They've done worse than fire him in the past.

I'm only going on the fact that he's still with them. Plus, they gave Eddie's widow a job - a woman who at first glance had no place in wrestling, let alone a place in the largest promotion on the planet.

Chavo is pretty great but i wanna see a face turn, and a run with someone like carlito.

He has become stale and stagnant. Last time he was face was when he was with Eddie: Lying, cheating and stealing.

Good wrestler and he is the only one who has gotten squashed (in a way) by horns that i actually had some gained interest in.

Why don't they bring back a light heavyweight/cruiseweight division?

I'd love to see that, what with Rey, Bourne, Kingston, TBK, Noble, Guerrero, Tyson Kidd and Low Ki in FCW, they'd have a division that would knock spots off TNA's X Divison.

But the reality is, cruiserweights don't make money, if they did, Vince wouldn't have ditched the division in the first place.

Maybe not, but they would add to the overall appeal of the show. You could have 1 or 2 great cruiserweight matches on every show. I think there is a market there for it.

Chavo won't get over any time soon, He is a very good technical wrestler and has loads of potential on the mic. It's a shame that the WWE aren't utilising him the way they should be, And on the Kendrick thing I think some of the creative writers do be on the wacky baccy with some of the storylines that are coming out today.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20,759 ✭✭✭✭dlofnep

I thought that they could have getting Chavo over if he eventually snapped on Vicky for treating him like crap.. Use the whole - If Eddie were here, you'd never accept this. Feed him a couple of gimme matches, and walla. He's back with the fans.

There is a cruiser-weight division, its held once a year.

    The money in the bank.

With the idea of WWE being PG could add to the reasons too.

Remember the story bout the Kid who lept outta his window cos he wanted to "Fly like jeff hardy"?
That was the final nail in the high flying section to the WWE.

They already barely have room for the tag titles on PPV, in fact, the US Title or IC title are rarely defended on PPV as it is. Surely adding another division just adds to the clutter.

PG sucks. When was the last good bloody match? A real bloody match. If somebody looked at HHHs head it used to explode in a shower of blood

There's barely ever been a genuine cruiserweight in the Money in the Bank Match. Just because its a spot fest, doesn't make it a cruiser weight match. Pigeon holing cruiserweights as high fliers is totally wrong as well, some of the best cruiserweights in the world Danielson, Gibson, KENTA, Shelly are mat based workers first and foremost, not to mention the likes of Malenko and Dynamite Kid in the past.

Also that Jeff Hardy story has absolutely nothing to so with it, total rubbish. If Vince was worried about kids imitating high fliers why would he have booked Jeff as World Champ amd pushed guys like Rey, Bourne and Kofi into prominent positions?

That its the nearest thing on WWE that your going to see.

Mark Henry's dietician will be delighted to hear that his client has reduced himself to a cruiserweight.

I was saying that the MITB is the only thing remotely "Cruiserweight" that the WWE will do in this day and age.

I wasnt calling the match itself cruiser-like.

I agree with what you said about it being a spot fest which is nothing like a match with those of Danielson and KENTA.

Its a ladder match to decide a number 1 contender for the World Title. What has it got to with a cruiserweight division? Why are we talking about it even?

Chavo to win MITB next year!! :D

I think he could be on to something there. Remember at Westlemania JR said that the winner of the MITB ladder match would earn a championship match in the future, but he did not say which championship. Maybe the WWE in the future will use the MITB for other championship matches other than world title shots.

Would love to see Chavo win it and get that Eddie push into the world title picture and we all want to see that happen.

Surely to God you'd want to go for a world title over any other belt though?!

He held the ECW belt for a few months last year, ironically people were fuming around here that he took the belt of Punk.

Come on how awesome would it have been if CM Punk had cashed in MITB for a shot at Maryse's diva belt?:pac:

Depends on what stage of your career your at. The WWE need to build up new superstars and by winning the MITB it gives them a platform to build on and win titles. Pushing them straight into a world title picture would be wrong. Why not use the MITB for the Intercontinental/US titles or really push the tag team division in it.

Because the way those divisions have been booked for the past 5 or more years has ensured that nobody cares one bit about them anymore. They're not even defended regularly on PPV, why would anyone care who was number 1 contender if the writers don't even care who's champion?

Well we can debate this until the cows come home. When TNA really started to push the knockouts the WWE really started to take notice. That's why womens wrestling is really being pushed right now. The divas were the main event on RAW a few weeks ago. Even in Trish's time they were never the last match on the flagship show. And as for the tag team division it's a shame that Edge got injured because both him and Jericho are an awesome team. This coupled with Legacy and possibly a Hardy reunion could really reignite the division. Having one title and allowing the tag champs to appear on all shows was a great idea imo.

Rey Mysterio, a former world champion and current 2 time Intercontinental champion seems to conclude that the WWE are taking the mid card titles more seriously and putting them back up where they deserve to be. Austin himself brought back the Intercontintal title after Bischoff dissolved it.

There have been SO many false dawns with regard the secondary titles, I really wouldn't get excited just yet. Yes, Rey will raise the prestige of the IC belt and hopefully will have a great run, but so many times we've thought this only for the titles to be treated as an afterthought after a while, or the tag belts used as props to further a main Event programme like the Batista/Cena feud last year. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see them made seem important again, I just wouldn't hold my breath.

Oh, and Trish and Lita once Main Evented Raw in a singles match a few years back.;)
