Try drinking more water before, during and after your work out.

I always do, i drink plenty during the day then when training i have a ballygowan 1 litre bottle which i fill and drink while training and always finish and top up. I actually thought on monday maybe it was dehydration from the alcohol the weekend but i had plenty of water on sunday after saturday...

Had this about three times in the last 8 years and it's an absolute nightmare... it's linked to a blood vessel in the back of your neck that has been put under strain... causes an almost blinding headache... best thing is to try and keep the strain down until it goes away. usually takes about two weeks for mine to dissipate properly.

And to ease my concience I went to the doctor with it last year and he sent me for a CT scan the whole works and they found nothing... Strong Brufen based painkillers will help.

It will go but it's a nasty bl**dy thing to get through, hope this helps.

On the internets it's called an exhertion headache. I've had it couple of times, tends to be when I haven't focused on my breathing. Having said that it hasn't happened in almost a year.

If it continues to happen then doctor visit I suppose. Or steal someone elses brain and use that.

This happened to me recently, just better now. Happened when straining in the gym, e.g. doing pullups and also when having sex. When I tried to breathe properly it minimised it. Still getting it a small bit. I stopped taking all vitimins / fish oil supplements and started drinking coffee again as caffene withdrawal is supposed to ba a cause. Pretty sure it's a tension headache, got a seriously bad one bout 2 weeks ago, thought it was a migraine.

This convince me it wasn't http://www.diffen.com/difference/Migraine_vs_Tension_Headache

Mines the back of the head as well. Meant to get it checked out, but now it's kinda goin away so...

Going to start taking vitamins and stuff soon again probably and see if it comes back. Could easily be the coffee, was drinking loads during exams, and then just stopped really.

You've certainly set your phasers to sarcasm today haven't you!?

But I actually almost passed out reading it, tend to hold my breath between punctuation. That first apostrophe might just have saved my life.

If you're having probs with headaches that won't go away OP ya go to a doc. Simple as. Otherwise it's just speculation.

I'm not being sarcastic. I'm a member of that society, I went to the Christmas party last year. What a time we had.

I suppose to avoid infraction I'd better answer. Headaches can be caused by lots of things- dehydration, high blood pressure, hangovers, loud noises, nerve pressure in your neck/upper back, stress, hormones, stress hormones, mojitos and watching Trisha. You may have high blood pressure or you may just be doing something wrong with your neck during your lifts. Are you squatting when you're getting them?

Drink water and if you are in pain pause the exercise and rest. If the pain persists contact you GP

I wasn't trying to start an argument either, it was just a joke. I don't know anything about high blood pressure other than that there are lots of causes. It's probably not that anyway, it's just one of a lot of things it could be and genuinely if I was getting regular headaches, I'd go to a doc. Your health is your wealth fella.

As I and a couple of others have pointed out, it's an exertion headache, it'll go away if you're careful but will flare up terribly when doing any exercise while looking straight up instead of forwards, example is pull downs when doing back... look up pain, look forward... no pain!!

The description of it is exactly the same as I've had... and that's what it was.... ok then I'll rephrase... It's possibly an exertion headache.

    Happy now?

I always have headache during my exercises and after gym. :confused:Never go to doctor. From my own investigations it always happened to me when I have luck of oxygen,- I tried to breathe how my trainer said, but anyway I had headache….
Don’t feel nice after gym, so for me is better to do sport like light aerobic, dancing…etc.:)

Now don't get stroppy, just read the stickies. You're not a doctor and neither am I. It's also a perfect description of a potential brain tumour, my headaches after 8 mojitos and the really bad punch in the eye I got last night. It's a headache of some sort.

Stroppy? I asked if my post made you happy...? Can't imagine why you got punched in the eye......
