iTunes Plus

I'm deeply sorry if this is the wrong forum - to be honest I didn't really know where to put it.

iTunes is telling me that I can update to iTunes Plus. It says that every song in the iTunes Store is now 256 kbps AAC format (twice the usual) and DRM free with no burn limits. As I already have bought quite a bit of music off iTunes, it says these will be updated if I choose to go ahead, at a price of €0.30 each.

However, it only gives me the option of updating 3 songs  I've purchased over 40 songs on iTunes so why can't I update all 40. It did say that all the iTunes Store music was updated to iTunes plus. I'm confused.

Also, is there much difference between 128 kbps AAC format and 256 kbps AAC format? Would I notice the increase in quality?

Are you sure that all songs are available DRM free. I wouldn't of thought so.

There is a noticeable difference in sound quality alright, but it's probably not worth paying €12 for.

Unless you're a major audiophile and have expensive headphones and speakers I wouldn't bother upgrading the songs you have already.

The difference in sound will only be noticeable when you go from a 256 song to a 128 song. The 128 song will sound a bit duller and the bass won't be as strong.
