    It could, but it very general and vague, i.e. it's not distinct to walking. The same statement could be used to tell someone to write an essay, bake a cake, buy a magazine etc. It basically means On you go or off with you, but it doesn't specifically mention walking.

    Nope, it's ag siúl. Siúl is the ainm briathartha (verbal noun) of siúil. Check your dictionary or grammar book and you'll see it. A few examples:

    Siúil! - Walk! (As in an order)

    Shiúil mé - I walked

    siúl - a walk/walking

    ag siúl - walking

    There are a number of other verbs that mutate in the same way, for example:

    Freastail! - Serve/Attend to! (As in an order)

    D'fhreastail mé - I served/attended to

    freastal - service/attendance to

    ag freastal - serving/attending to
