I had a call from them a few days ago offering me a free €75 bet(well money back if bet lost up to €75) because I hadn't bet with them in a while. They were basically looking to get my business back. They asked me how could they improve their service, simple answer really remove the 20% charge. They then asked will I consider to return to betfair, I said that I will use it from time to time but only in such a manner that I won't incurr the punitive 20%.

I've had missed calls from them twice in the last three weeks.

Hope I didn't miss out on a free bet!

They rang me today but i missed the call. I've gotten calls off them twice before and gotten free bets of 10 and 20 quid. If your bet lost they would return the stake to you and if it won you got your winnings plus your stake plus another free bet.

Basically, Betfair introduced a 20% charge in September '08 whereby they are punishing winning punters provided that a no. of criteria have been met. Tbh you will find a detailed explanation on their website because it's quite complicated an they will explain it better. That is why loads of punters switched to Betdaq.

Yep have had the same, hardly use them now as the liquidity on the markets that am interested in(antepost dogs) is virtually zero nowadays for both backing and laying....

i pay 5% commission on net winnings

the premium charge (20% referred to above) is only paid by people who satisfy a certain list of conditions, eg: a/c has to be in profit over a 60 week period, must have bet on over 250 markets in that time

there are others but the point is that this charge only applies to successful professional punters (ie. a tiny % of gamblers), not the ordinary occasional & largely unsuccessful gambler (ie. the VAST majority)

They range me once before and I said I was waiting to bet again until I got emailed offering a free 20 euro bet or whatever. The guy said they didn't have any promotion codes at the time but then went an added a 50 on my account. I didn't have the money that weekend to top it up though. Been waiting on them to call ever since but they never do :(
