Will support South Africa as i do every year, but i reckon Australia will take this one. Bags of young talent and plenty of experience will make them the team to beat.

Think it's going to be the closest competition for a few years and any of them could win it, but I went for Aus.

NZ for me. With McCaw back they are a different side.

South Africa didn't really impress me at all against the lions and although the Aussies are improving I just think the AB's will have enough to beat them once in OZ as well as win all the home fixtures.

He's had a poor season, would prefer to see Bruce at 12 myself with Kahui (if he stayed fit) at 13.

The All Blacks team doesnt look that great at all. McCaw hasn't played since the S14 semi against the bulls. How often can they really on him to dig themselves out of a hole? Think they will struggle this year.
If the boks can bring their home form on the road they will be very hard to beat.
Ozzies have a great up and comming team and with Deans as coach they have arguably the best coach in the world at the helm.
    It will be very close.

But I am going for Boks 1st, Wallabies 2nd and the AB's 3rd.

I went for the Wallabies, cos they're the form team right now, but they have no right to 64% of the poll really.

    OZ, Boks, NZ.

It will be tight alright, but as mentioned above, OZ are the team to beat.

Seriously now, what's wrong with you lads. I thought the mods had talked about this and that we need to get this forum sorted by putting the best team first and again alot of you are putting the boks second or last.

Which other team have accomplished this over space of 2 years?

    We won a Tri-Nations
    We won a World Cup
    We won Autumn Internationals
    We won the Lions series

Do you want us to win another 3N to prove we are the best in the world? Ok so, we will do it then and hopefully put this misunderstanding to bed.

It's only a matter of opinion, but surely you must admit that there isn't a whole lot between the teams?? One bad day can be the difference between first or third.

I'm half going back on NZ in favour of Oz, but I said NZ first, so I'll stick with it, but the boks haven't been all that impressive, fair enough they've won trophies, but that world cup, as I've said a few times, was a complete disastor with the likes of Ireland struggling against Georgia, Namibia, and being dominated by Argentina and France, Wales going out to Fiji, New Zealand blowing it against France, who weren't a great side, England who were the worst ever defending world champions, who did nothing in 6 nations rugby for 4 years and were a very poor side, made it to the final!!

It's maybe harsh to take away from the achievment, a world cup winner is a world cup winner, but that was such a poor tournament for quality, there was no stand out team that looked like world champions, nearly a winner by default of being the least poor team.......

SA are a very good side and have very good players, but I think Oz are better and New Zealand will have a point to prove and are the one team you never right off...I just have a feeling they'll do it.

It's nothing personal, just a matter of opinion. There's not a whole lot in it, and I'll be the first to eat my hat if you do win it and say congratulations, but I just don't think you will...I think SA will come 3rd.

Also, I don't think SA were overly impressive in the Lions series either for what it's worth.

About 5 years ago you won a Tri Nations, guess who won the rest after that.

Aussies have been playing the better rugby then the other lot and have the best 7 at the moment, the best 10 and the best backline combo.

@Jackass some very bitter things about the RWC, ourselves and Wales were beaten by better teams and completely under preformed. Both England and SA deserved to get to that final.

Cheers, by the way I voted for the boks to win the thing but can see why people would vote for the other teams. Tomorrow will prove very interesting in how weak the All Blacks really are and how stong the wallabies are. Wouldnt be at all surprised if the AB's win comfortably.

First two were under Jake White who can actually coach.

AI's barely beat Scotland and Wales and two teams in transition(medal in post)
Lions tour, if the Lions had two more weeks prior to the tests they could have won 3-0 or 2-1

DeVilliers couldn't coach a tag team , its pretty clear that the players are in charge of that circus. They'll do well to better last years 3N's record imo.

Not at all. It's not as if I'm annoyed over it or feel like we were robbed. We were god awful to tell you te truth, and I don't deny the deserving teams got where they should, my point was just that Ireland six nations form 2007 vs world cup form 2007 was like 2 completely different teams. There's no denying we only reached about 1 tenth of the quality we showed over the last couple of seasons, which is why I said it was the poorest quality tournament, not that they didn't deserve to win it, they were the "least worst" team, but all the big teams really let themselves down and didn't perform in that competition bar two...that was my point...

    allblacks win tomorrow.
cowan was picked for his box kicking.
it will take pressure off donald.
jane picked ahead of rokocoko.......kicking prowess

the all blacks are going to pepper ashley cooper and expect lachie turner to have a lot of traffic down his side.

muliaina to score and one of the front row to score

27 11 to the all blacks

A Tri-Nations in the last 2 years? Ehm I think you'll find the last one wasn't since 2004. And you've only won one other one since it began in 1996 (1998) in fact. SA are the perenniel whipping boys of the 3N. Your RWC win was probably the softest ever, avoiding all the big teams bar an England team in the doldrums, so that wasn't a great barometer. nd you squeaked past an unspectacular Lions side - I would not be getting too confident, NZ may be in a difficult phase but I don't think SA can lay claim to the 'best side in the world' tag just yet. When was the last time you even bet Ireland :D Aus are looking very promising and you lot have plenty to be worried about!

It's going to be close, I would think the title will still be up for grabs by the time of the last game.

However for me it will be

    1) New Zealand
    2) Australia
    3) A.N.Other

What I was saying is that the core of current boks squad one every big trophy since 2004.

Not sure which WC you've watched but Samoa and Tonga would've beat alot of teams includ Ireland. I don't think you or any other Irish supporter are in a position or deserve the right to call the WC soft, what have Ireland done (apart from 6N) to earn the respect to decide it.

Unspectacular Lions squad?? Wasn't this your team predition, apart from Flannery and Ferris most of these players played. Lions lost by few points and won the 3rd so this was a great series.

    1. Jenkins
    2. Flannery
    3. Murray
    4. POC
    5. AWJ
    6. Ferris
    7. Wallace
    8. Heaslip
    9. Phillips
    10. Jones
    11. Williams
    12. Flutey
    13. BOD
    14. Bowe
    15. Byrne

After winning all major tournaments and trophies the boks still aren't the best according to you. So in your opinion what does SA still have to do to prove so?

Are you watching the current 3N match, Aus is doing great huh  so much for their "play whats in front of you" game, clearly that's not working.

Oh and when SA were giving the Lions a beating Aus was playing "better" rugby against.....Italy

Ah the old Ali v Tyson argument. At the moment, he's ahead of George Smith as best breakaway (not by that much, in my opinion). Is a great leader/talisman for the team and does lead by example..."greatest rugby player in the world"? Too wide a canvas to even begin to negotiate...

i think its a fair shout to be honest. any team in the world would take him in a heartbeat (including australia...........robbie deans the mentor ;)).the difference he makes to that team is off the clock. he tackles everything that moves and is one try away from being the top try scoring all black forward of all time at 27 years of age.

    Was right though!

Re: McCaw, he is a bit of a beast of a player but I cant see how he can play like that for much longer. I would not be surprised if he retires completely after the World Cup.

I mentioned before that I was talking to a friend of mine who works in a clinic here in Christchurch. Well a few weeks ago McCaw calls in to have a scan/checkup. The doctor basicly tells him he should stop playing now as he risks permanent brain damage. He is having increasing problems with his memory and one or 2 more concussions could seriously fcuk him up. Definitely something to keep an eye on anyway. Expect to see him more in the scrum cap!

The AB's greatest strength but also its greatest weakness as he can be targeted. The boks will probably do a number on him this week or next!
