Panasonic G10 with Irish DTT

I've been using a Panasonic 32G10L (Irish Model) with DTT. I assume I'm on the 3-rock mast as I'm in Dublin 16 [CH 54] 738MHz

However I'm never been able to get EPG or MHEG5 text, just plain old style text.

On TG4 I do see "An Aimsir/Wimbledon" is shown for now and next.

During setup of TV I selected Ireland as country. I've seen that some Sony's require the selection of UK, but there is no UK option on my TV.

Has anyone else gotten EPG or Digital Text to work on this TV?

Can anyone confirm that this model supports MHEG5?

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

EPG on Irish DTT currently not available. For the last few weeks nobody has been getting epg. This is not a fault of your TV, Remember they are currently just testing so anything can happen. Last week tv3 was unavailable

    Thanks GiveCredit.

How about MHEG5 text? I've read that people are getting this recently. Is there something I need to do or does the TV not support MHEG5?

I know there are quite a few Panasonic G10s out there has anyone personal experience of getting MHEG5 text on these models?

I have the Panasonic 32" G10L and like all Irish market products they have stripped it to the bone. There is no MHEG5 so you will not get Digital Interactive teletext only ordinary plain old Aertel, the EPG is now and next with programming info and they EPG is pretty bad as the channels are marked as Pay TV so they will not line up similary to the Sky tv epg with the channel name and future programming alongside.

As a further example of the rip-off republic "Power on Preference" is also absent in the Irish G10L while the FREESAT G10B has got it, this allows for the TV to switch-over automatically to HDMI port 1 when a signal from the attached HDMI device is detected like Scart used to autoswitch. It is a real pain in the neck having to switch to HDMI everytime for the Sky+ HD box which runs on a HDMI cable. The EPG programming info is now back on Mullaghanish for me but all 4 channels have now reverted to the red RTÉNL Test screen with RTE1 and RTE2 saying "Ident Mode".

Thanks for the reply. Just curious as to where you got the info that there is no MHEG5 support in the Irish model?

If they have it in the UK model I find it hard to believe that they removed it from the Irish model which was fitted out with Mpeg4 for the Irish DTT system!

As for the EPG, you have to select France as your country to get the full 7 day EPG. I assume that this will change when Irish DTT is launched, perhaps there will be firmware update then that will enable MHEG5 and 7 day EPG when setting is Ireland.

I'm also aware that on some other TVs (some Sony models) you have to choose UK as your country, UK is not an option on the Irish model 32G10.

And as for the channels being marked as Pay TV not sure if that is being set by the broadcasts or by the TV, what makes you think it's the TV?
