Chest Rig/Vest recommendations.

Looking to buy a new vest or chest rig but don't really know where to get started. I currently have an m4 and an mp5 so it would obviously need the mag pouches to hold those. Also, would you recommend having a pistol pouch on the vest itself or does that add too much weight to the chest rather than having a thigh/drop-leg pistol holster?

Any pictures of your own load-outs or advice on what to go for would be greatly appreciated.
    TIA.

I got this one in olive drab. I ended up buying these pouches though (In OD), because I hated those velcro ones. I should have bought this one.

Those Warrior Assault System chest rigs seem to be pretty good for their price. They have low profile rigs and vests on that site as well. They will give you a good idea of what is available.

They're serious gear thats for sure. Also this all depends on how much you want to spend. you can do very well for 50-80 yoyo if its for Airsoft. Sometimes a lot less. If its the more realistic you want, and in some cases the real deal, that Warrior gear is great value. but real deal stuff can go through the roof.

I picked up a molle vest from one of the guys here, purely for Airsoft and I have to say, I was mightily impressed, (this thing won't hold plates or anything like that) but if you want to charge about the place looking the part and hold some mags....it would do nicely. It was for my son......no really it was.......:)

I have one of those in camo and it is alright, when I have all my kit in it, it doesnt really distribute the weight well enough and leaves my back in bits.

I would probably not want to go over about €100. A molle vest definitely looks like a good option.

It all depends on what you want. Vest, chest rig, light rig, plce, etc.

If you find vests restrictive (some do) then PLCE or similar is good. i have Brit PLCE and it's excellent. I prefer to carry the minimum so have now given up the PLCE for a belt with horizontal mag pouches.

Flecktarn.co.uk do a whole range of stuff, worth checking out.

Molle all the way IMO. You can do anything with it and set it up exactly as you want it, and you can keep adding more and more and more and, well you get the idea.

As for pistol holster, personally i use a leg holster. It frees up space on the vest and allows me to get a faster draw( i use it with a sig P226, so a heavy pice)

Maybe I'm just a sweaty individual, but I find that making an effort in a skirmish has me hot and sticky, and with every bit of evaporation space working to the max the likes of a plate carrier seems like madness to me.

I had my eye on this MOLLE vest for its meshiness and breathability, but ended up going for a pre-built chest rig instead, because MOLLE seems like so much work and expense.

Just from a personal view point i sweat standing still, i normally use a chest rig, got it a while ago on wgcshop and i love it it leaves your back wide open so help to cool down, plus its molle on the front so you can put what ever you want on it. Picked up a cheap black plate carrier for the teams second camo gear and i sweated the crap out of myself. Defo go molle chest rig

I put up some pictures of my chest rig in the pictures thread if you want to have a look at it phlegms.

I really like the idea of these bandoleer's. They are pretty cheap too. If you still didnt have enough room for all your gear you could add one of these molle belts. You will need to add pouches and stuff as well of course.

    Thanks for the replies lads!

Anyway, I eventually went for a nice low profile molle belt that has enough room for a triple m4 mag pouch, pistol holster and a mag drop pouch. I plan to travel as light as possible when skirmishing so this suits me down to the ground. Might get a full Molle vest in the future when I get some more money together or start doing longer skirmishes.
