Trouble with laptop battery

    Hi

    I'm having trouble with my ASUS laptop. The original power supply and battery are broken and I've replaced them in the last week. I ordered a replacement power supply on ebay but when it came they sent me an ACER model by accident. It's the same voltage and that so I tried it and it's been working perfectly. The battery came this morning, so I put it into the laptop, but it's not charging. It had about 70% life in it when it came so I let that run down and then tried to charge it up but it won't work, still getting the message "plugged in, not charging".

    Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

    Oh and some other forums suggested updating the BIOS so I tried that but it didn't work..
