Thinking of taking up cycling

Will be very brief, would love to take up cycling but I haven't sat on a bike in over 10 years. Was wondering about buying a bike, does anyone have a list of bike shops in the Dublin - Kildare area? Also, any advice regarding how much to spend on a new bike for someone starting out. And finally, a list of Cycling clubs around Dublin - Kildare area. Any advice would be much appreciated.

What's your budget? Could start at €750 for an entry level road bike (drop bars). Don't forget to budget in some suitable cycling attire :) there are so many bike shops out there that Dublin-Kildare doesn't really narrow it down. What's you local bike shop called in your nearest town.

Go out for a few spins and see if you're liking it before you join a club. A lot of clubs are going through the racing season at the moment and may not be talking new members. The Autumn would be the best time to join.

Good luck and keep the momentum of interest.

Add in a couple of quid for repair kit, multi-tool, floor pump and mini-pump.

Plus shoes and clipless pedals if you get into it.
