UPC DVR - All recordings gone. Help

I came home from a week holiday to find that my UPC DVR which I've had for over a year, had deleted all of my recordings (approx. 80% full but no more). I came home from a week holiday to find that my UPC DVR which I've had for over a year, had deleted all of my recordings (approx. 80% full but no more). The My TV Planner still shows the series links I have programmed in.

I didn't protect any of the recordings as none of them are hugely important (movies etc.). It surely isn't possible that if I go over 100% that it automatically deletes everything is it? Surely it will only delete a few things from the oldest recorded?

Has this happened to anyone else?
