Eidolon Wedges

I've been on the hunt for a set of wedges. I currently use the PW and SW from my iron set (clone/custom - design based on Callaway x16s) and I also have a cheap 60° clone club as well.

During my research of the different options to consider (mainly Titleist and Clevelend) I came across the Eidolon brand.
At first I thought it was another one of those gimmick sites, but it looks to be very legit all right. After reading around the company has won an award from an established European magazine and has had plenty other endorsements.

Every club is built to order and they also have this V-Sole patented technology which allows the player to adjust the bounce making the club very versatile. i.e. playable from very tight lies as well as rough and bunkers.

I'm very impressed anyway (although I am easily impressed!!), but the price is on the very high side. A set of 4 wedges is $450

Any of ye guys come across this brand? Anyone with any first hand experience of one?

Pretty surprised there's not even a passing interest in these wedges.

The more I research them online the more good things I hear. I have yet to find any negative comment about the clubs. And I have been looking for them :D

They also seem to have free delivery with USPS to Ireland. Not sure what's going on there, maybe it's an error on the website.

They look pretty nice alright jimbling. Would be interested to see what you think of them if you do go ahead with them. The reviews look pretty good and the are a beautiful looking club.

There is a brand of wedges called Reid Lockhart that are available on ebay that are almostb the exact same design as the Eidolon.
The guy who ran Reid Lockhart left and set up Eidolon, and the Eidolon's are basically a more upmarket version of the Reid Lockharts.
The best bit is that you can buy a 3 wedge set of new Reid Lockharts on ebay for around €60.

    Cheers.... that's interesting all right.

Just doing a bit of searching about Reid Lockharts there. It seems to have a similar technology with the sole, but the reviews are not as good.

Also, they seem to be around the same price as the Eidolons on the main website. The 3 wedge set on ebay for €60 seems to be just the heads.

Just ordered 52° and 56° wedges from Eidolon. I'm hoping the free postage is something they'll stand by now, but have a feeling they'll be back on to me.

Not sure what I'll do if they turn around and try to charge me huge money for delivery.

Don't see why they would come back and say you have to pay for delivery...i'd be more worried about screwed by customs, could be around 50 Euro if you do

Ya, customs will prob be around the €40. Thats okay. But if they add on a delivery charge that will up the customs price too. The clubs will suddenly get very expensive.

Yep, they're asking me for delivery money. I've argued with them and they're looking into a better price for me.

Cancelled my order for them. It was just working out too expensive for such an unkown.

I did go ahead and buy a Cleveland G12 RTG+ DSG 52° Wedge.
Only hit a few shots with it, but it felt pretty good.

I did notice that it ripped the crap out of my ball. I was hitting a Nike ball, cant remember the type exactly but it was super soft or something. Anyway, when I got to the green there was literally strings hanging from the ball... I had to tear them off before putting.

Wow, that G12 wedge is class. It rips the crap out of balls all right, but it just seems to obey your every command.
And I was actually getting backspin on some of my shots yesterday
