    Ok well I haven't actually read it, but before we all read it we can talk about the history too.

    Anyway, dead souls is actually incomplete, some nasty insane priest convinced gogol to burn. The terrible fellow!.

    How are people doing with the books anyway? We'd best keep each other updated so we can choose a time at which to start the discussion in earnest.

    Been sauntering through it the last week, While I like it Im finding it hard to read it for some reason. I read 100 pages today anyway, so Im at the end of part 1. Quite different to what Ive read before. Great characters.

    Yeah pretty interesting relationships in the book too. It's strange though, I'm seriously having some trouble remembering it :pac:

    Edit: Woops, that post up there was about kurkov's book.

    Regarding dead souls, the characters are indeed fantastic. Selifan for one, calling his horses 'secretaries' :D
