I had my ps3 set up on another tv in the house via hdmi, switched the ps3 to another tv and i cant get the hdmi working.

ive reverted back to the old scart connection, i have the 2 cables connected at the same time, i get the automatic screen which says "a hdmi source was detected do you want to change all video and audio over etc" i click yes and the screen goes blank, i change quickly to the TV HDMI input and its still coming up as "no signal"

ive tried the manual way of going into the display settings and selecting hdmi output but the screen again goes blank and returns after about 30 secs.

The tv has 1 HDMI input,

Has anyone got any more info or tricks to try.. ive searched the net and cant find a way around it.

you could connecting it back to the original hd tv using hdmi.
go to display and manually select the resoloution, pick the lowest reseloution.
now connect it to the other hd tv via hdmi and it should work.

you may have the same problem as i had, the last tv may have been set to full hd, change the setting on the ps3 to 1080i, while connected with hdmi, you may have to use another tv.

    It worked for me.

when you turn on the ps3 hold the on button down until you hear 3 beeps, its a full reset. you will be able to adjust the screen res then.

do you have the scart & HDMI connected at same time?
If so, use the scart only & turn on ps3, if this works ok, turn off ps3.
Disconnect the scart & attach the HDMI, turn on PS3 & it should pick up the signal & now work on HDMI

nope that way wont work for me, I reset the unit and hooked it up via the scart, then turned off the unit, attached only the hdmi cable (removed scart) and i could not recieve any picture on any of the tv's imput

If i put both the scart and hdmi on together i can get to the stage where it says that a hdmi output has been found do you want to switch over. i click yes and the whole lot goes blank

    what resolution is your tv?
Did you attach scart then change resolution to 1080i (or whatever your tv will pick up) one poster suggested it earlier?

    Outlander is correct.

Connect the PS3 to your TV using both HDMI and 'scart'.

From the standy position press and hold the PS3's reset button til your hear a few successive beeps.

This will perform a hard reset and it will reset your display settings to automatically use the scart.

Change your TV over to the relevant AV channel (scart). You should see the PS3's XMB.

Now browse to your display settings on the PS3 and set it to HDMI (use automatic settings if you're unsure of the display capabilities of your TV)

The TV should automatically change over to your HDMI channel and away you go.

If it doesn't, browse manually to your HDMI channel on the TV and wait a few seconds. It should appear.

If this doesn't work, either your HDMI cable is faulty or your PS3's HDMI port is faulty.
