Just wondering if anyone has bought any sort of running id item. Conscious of the fact that I bring absolutely no form of ID on any run and if I got knocked down by a bus or a stray sea gull I'd like to have a contact number on me for an ambulance to call etc.

Any ideas? Was hoping for something I could get something made like the Lance Armstrong band that has some info on it and doesnt look stupid.

I think something like this might be what you want?

I have a RoadID as suggested above. Bought the ShoeID that wraps around the laces (not the shoe pouch). Have name, address, home phone and wife's mobile number on it.

My wife made me buy a roadID dogtag a few years ago after she saw an ad for one in one of my tri mags.

Four weeks ago I was hit by a bus on a training spin and taken to hospital. It was about a day before I knew who I was. Thankfully due to the roadID the hospital staff knew who to call and who I was. I can't recommend a roadID more highly.

The same thought occured to me last week. I rarely carry ID on training runs. If I had an accident even 100m from home, nobody would know me, let alone running country lanes somewhere. I'll be purchasing a RoadID today!

@ Tunney - just read your log. terrible accident. you're a good advert for RoadID... think you should be looking for commission for promotions! :D still can't believe you made it to the race, only to be milled out of it by some idiot... really bad luck.
