Am going away on holidays in a few weeks and wouldnt mind investing in a good suncream or spf mosturiser for my face rather than use the standard stuff. Something not too oily or heavy. Anyone any recommendations?

Roc do an spf moisturiser think it's called minesol or something like that, can't remember exactly. It's really light anyway, bit pricey, but worth the money:)

Are you looking to put make up over it?

Yeh I got this really cheap once in France and it's amazing. I got factor 40 and I use it on my face only and then a factor 50 nivea all over because the Roc one is almost like a regular moisteriser so I saved it for my face.

    i would definitly recommend it!

I 3rd the ROC Minesol Protect. Have it in Factor30. It's for oily skin so it says on the front. Find it very good and light.

Another person also recommended a La Roche Posay suncream to me aswell..but havn't had a chance to buy it yet as I'm waiting for my ROC one to be finished first.

No, I'll bare all and go make up free :) Roc one sounds good tho

I've been using la Roche possey factor 50, it's available in pharmacies works brilliantly under make up too. It's also very light and is suitable for oily skin. Best product that I've tried, also recommended by a dermatologist

Do you have a Derma-Care where you live... If so, they specialize in skin care and have the best moisturizers/ sunscreens I have ever used. And they don't irritate the skin. I have heard good things about Estee Lauder Daywear and Oil of Olay in a shopping guide recommendations. Oil of Olay is pretty good too, and way less expensive.

I find that facial sunscreens make my skin break out in spots so I've just bought a tube of Pro-Activ factor 30 to try - I figure if it's an anti-acne brand it should be good! Haven't had a chance to try it out yet seeing as we haven't had any sun, but my sister uses it and finds it v. good. The only other ones I've found ok are the La Roche Posay and Roc ones.

As mentioned Minesol do some excellent suncreams. It's worth looking online for them because www.chemistdirect.co.uk and www.directcosmetics.co.uk often sell them very cheaply.

Clinique City Block is the best I think. It comes in factor 25. It's a kind of beigey colour. Non oily/greasy. Comes in a tube.

Great on its own as it actually smooths out your complexion and depending on the state of your skin in the first place you might get away with no make up over it. Always a bonus in the sun and heat I think.

Not sure how much it is here but I know it's around 20 - 25 euro in Spain.

There's also a lip balm with SPF too.

    HTH

+1 on the Clinique Cityblock, it is lovely and has a sort of matt finish. I have quite oily areas on my skin and am prone to spots so I find normal suncream is a no no on my face. The CLinique goes on beautifully and doesn't feel all sticky and sweaty.

Spotted a clinique counter in one of the local chemists yesterday so I went in to enquire about the price of the city block, of course the girlies behind the counter were too busy yapping to each other to notice me waving my arms and saying excuse me every few seconds so I ended up walking out before I punched one of them!

I did however spot that the city block is available in SPF 40 as well as the SPF 25 I mentioned previously.

Still none the wiser on the price of it though

Don't buy it here, Clinique is a rip off here! Buy it from www.strawberrynet.com they are far cheaper and will have it to you in 5-7 days. Make sure you buy it in dollars, works out cheaper than buying it in euro. I use the SPF 25.

I've got oily skin too and my GP recommended 'Hamilton Everyday' which apparently is good.. haven't bought it yet though :p

Ah clever girl! And no dealing with snotty assistants in the chemist!

well I've no need for it at the minute (unfortunately) but when funds allow I'll replace it. Best cream I ever used on my face, works great as a make up primer too believe it or not.

I'm too scared to check out strawberrynet in case I see loads of lovely things!

    Damn you ncmc ;)

I couldn't resist and I'm all over that website!!!!

The price difference is unreal. Wish I had the spondoolies to go wild.

It's getting to the stage where I'll never have to leave the house again....now if only Lidl would deliver the groceries.:D
