Yeah, you really should take out the battery if it's going to be plugged in for a prolonged period. And store it in a cool dry place. If you know you'll only have it plugged in for a couple of hours before moving on battery power, it's probably not worth the hassle.

Yes, you can leave it plugged in . The battery stops charging when it is fully-charged even though its plugged in.

This is true. However the heat from the laptop causes the battery to degrade quicker. So if the laptop is plugged in for most of it's life it's better for the battery if it's removed and stored in a cool dry place.

if your battery isint being used then theres no need for it to be in the laptop...take it out

keeping it in when fully charged will shorten the life spam of it

Make sure you dont keep the battery dormant and out of the laptop for too long though. Once every week should be enough. I usually keep my battery in cause i always end up pulling the cable out by accident shutting off the laptop instantly.

Lithium-ion batteries are better than they were, anyway. There're more ways to prolong battery life in a laptop, than there are to increae fuel economy in cars... most of 'em just don't work. So long as you're not constantly deep cycling your battery to zero, then to full power, it'll live alright.
