Eirtext Bug

Hi Vinny, I know you're on the forums here so thought I'd mention an annoying bug in your (otherwise brilliant!) Eirtext app. When you type out a message and then select a contact it wipes the message that you had been writing. It seems to be you have to select the contact first and then type your message. In the old version it didn't matter what order you did the message writing/contact selecting.

Apologies if you already know about this or have got a fix in the works.

Yeah it's a bug which only happens when using the contact picker. It works fine if you type in the name and select.

I'll be fixing this in the next update. Thanks for reporting it.

Also, I've noticed that under OS3.0 on the iphone , the "Shake to Clear" function no longer works, as it seems to be superceeded by the OS's undo/redo option when you shake the device which is annoying. Miss being able to clear old text by shaking the phone and start typing away again, now have to highlight the text and delete or hold down delete key to get rid of it all. Any plans to address this or is it just me?

EirText 3.0 & EirText Pro 3.0 (coming soon) both have a clear button in the message field that will let you delete the entire message with one tap.

I'm not sure I'll be adding shake to clear back in. I think it'd be better to have clear all and undo support.

I assume you're using EirText Pro 2.0.5 at the moment? If so you can, for now, hit Edit and then Clear message.

I have Eirtext pro and it works fine but was wondering. In the test it checking connection and then just sits at logging in.

Is this a bug? Everything else works though.

Yeah, it's been misbehaving for certain accounts since the last version or so. It's being removed in 3.0, as I don't feel it's a necessary feature and generally just caused confusion.

Hi Vinny,

Its probably been asked before. but i cant seem to be able to delete messages. i can delete "all mesages" but it just shows up as a new message. which results in dozens of new messages being left in the inbox.

Can this be fixed?

In the main view that list all conversations? You can swipe the ones you want to delete to bring up the delete button.

Also if you type a message without selecting a contact
and press the Fav icon button Eirtext Pro crashes v4.2.0
