If you get no where, you get a little cert saying you entered.
You can also phone them a month after the competition finishes and they will give you feedback on your plan.

If you get through to the first round, you have to pitch your plan.

If you get through to the final round (guaranteed to win money), they take you in for a how to pitch your business master class.

Then you pitch your business again in the final and judges decide the winners.

First round winners get the cash straigh away, overall winners get some cash straight away and the rest based on meeting goals. You set the goals.

    thanks guys..

What do you do just submit your business plan, if they think it's ok they'll give you a call to help you work on it?

Do you have to be a company, sold trader is no good?

I also saw there is a help center near me, is that only if you get through or would they help with the initial plan..

You submit your business plan, they mark it and if it's good you make it through to the first round.
They will give you a few pointers over the phone at this point, you can go in and meet with them if they have time, ask them nicely.

First round is 3 companies in each area, in each category, pitch and one is selected from each category to go to final. They also pick the spin out winner at this stage.

    need to be a company

These are 2 hour work shops where they give advise and answer questions, before you submit business plan.
Wouldn't go through each individual plans.

Know a good few of the winners over the years in all categories, apart from having a solid business,
    Solution/Product
    USP
    Market
    Competitive Advantage
    sales and Marketing Plan
    Management Team
    Finanicals
    Investment Proposal
    Exit Strategy

The key is to pitch big and talk global, a business that is guaranteed to be a successful small business make owner very wealthy, would loose out to a punt on a business that might have a very slim chance of being the next google.

Got to Leinster final in 06 with a software business. We didn't even have a product fully developed. However, their business plan format is very old school. You will spend a lot of time on the competition. That's only a minor thing. I would recommend entering because it's a good exercise especially if you get in front of the panel.

If you do enter make, sure you read all the criteria and make sure your submitted plan ticks all the boxes. If you are straight out of college it can seem a bit over formal. Ultimately, it's worth it.
