Cycling clubs for beginners?

Hi everyone, I'm not sure whether such a club exists but I thought this would be the best place to ask. Are there any cycling clubs for novices, who simply meet up to cycle in groups? I have a regular mounttain bike and would love to find others to cycle with. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
