My friend has just broke up with his girlfriend and has invited me to go on holiday with him in place of his girlfriend in the same aprtment block and flight. The only problem is that the flight is going next Monday week and my sign on date is the following Tuesday as well as my pick-up day which is the Wednesday.

I read on here that you must give two weeks notice before you go away. I would be only to give a weeks notice. Anyone know if there is a way around this.

I don't think they are hard and fast on the 2 week notice rule. As long as you go into your local office before you go away and inform them, it should be ok. normally they like you to sign on the day before you go, they will then suspend your payments, then you sign on the day after you get back and your payments will then be issued for collection at your post office.

Thanks for the clarification. Much appreciated! It was just sounding too good to be true with the free flight/accomodation so thought this could be the snag in the grand scheme.

    Cheers.
