    Hi,

I've a 1970 Mercedes 250 CE which I'm thinking of selling. How is the market for this type of car at the moment? Have prices fallen a lot?

    Thanks.

poor !!!!! would be my guess

buyers are very hard to find ,& a lot of people are having to sell their classics at the moment , as they find themselves scarce of money :(

its a buyers market at the moment though !
if you have the cash ,id say youd pick yerself up a bargin in lots of places .

but selling now is not ,shall we say ---- not easy .

Doesn't sound too good! I might have to hold on to it for another year or two. The wife will be distraught! :D

    Hi Artic,

    This is her:

    PICT3422.JPG
(Nothing wrong with her suspension just a giant TV in the boot)

In great condition except she has a few bubbles in the paint (headlights and sills) and some rust in the passenger footwell. Runs well but blows out smoke sometimes when pulling off from traffic lights. I'm the 4th owner. I'm trying to decide whether to get the smoke issue sorted prior to selling it or if I should just sell her for a reduced price. Let me know if you're interested and I'll have a look around to see what they're selling for.

Genuine reason for selling - wife pregnant and buying a house!:D

Plan B - Have ye 2 "moderns" between ye ? Sell your modern, nominate your wife's car as the modern for the Merc insurance and drive the Merc everyday !

Yup that's the situation I'm in. Specifically suggested by the insurance company! I've no insurance in my own name at the moment :D

Well we have plan C - 2 Vespas, one modern car and one classic :D
Problem is though the off-street parking in the new place is accessed by a very narrow lane the Merc wouldn't fit down, and as I have a cover on her when she's not in use I really don't want to leave her on the street, not a great way to endear myself to the new neighbours :)
