    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone woudl like to share their experiences about and weird / wonderful weddings they have attended in North Leinster area.

I'm looking at venues, not really interested too much in traditional ballroom in hotel, would much prefer something a bot different. Possibly a nice manor house or something like that.

I know there are loads out there, just trying to find which are the better options.

Would appreciate any feedback anyone has?

    Cheers!

Middleton House Hotel in Westmeath comes to mind. Done some weddings there and it's a lovely venue. Lisnavagh house in Carlow might be too far but it is also
    very nice.

Just done the look around Meath/Kildare, would you be interested in kildare?

If not bellinteer house in meath, lovely but a bit expensive and the rooms are small in dinner area so your crowd is broken into different rooms.

    views are lovely!!!

What about Rathsallagh House in Wicklow (off the Carrlow road south of Naas).
Or Moyglare Manor in Maynooth. I dont know about prices, but they are both excellent venues.

Can second that one!! I got married there last year and it was the perfect setting for a perfect day. The organiser there is fantastic and you'd have nothing at all to worry about. They bring caterers in and the food is superb.

    Hi There,

Try the station house in Kilmessan. I got married there and it was amazing!

Just heard Ballymacgarvey house is having a wedding open weekend this weekend, http://www.bmvillage.ie/weddings.html the house seems lovely, but I haven't been in it yet, and they have lovely gardens around it too. Its right on the N2, near Kentstown and Ashbourne.

Edit: Also meant to say http://www.balrathcourtyard.com/ is within a 2 minute drive of ballymacgarvey village, for extra accommodation.

    yeah, saw that alright.

the suggested packages they quote start at €105/per person to €150/person. Seems very expensive, especially in this recessionary time, don't you think!!

Oh yeah! Sorry I had no idea, we live near it and it sounded nice on the radio, but not that nice!

A few have mentioned the station house, and I would 2nd that too. I've been to a wedding and a couple of functions at it. 100 - 120 would be a comfortable amount for it hold. The gardens and everything in it are lovely.
Again, I've no idea of prices, but I'm sure it is in and around the normal hotel prices €40/50 per head?
