Bolt v Gay

Coming from another thread got me thinking this year over a 100m Bolts start has always been his achilles heal (if he has one). Till now however he has been able to get away with it but when put against such a quality as Gay having the upperhand after 30m could Bolt buckle with the pressure.
So do people think that Bolt will have it all his own way or could Gay cause an upset?

Gay to retain his double. And no upset, either.

Waaay too early for this, but anyway...

    100m
    1. Bolt U 9.62 (WR)
    2. Gay T 9.72 (PB)

    200m
    1. Bolt U 19.39 (SB)
    2. Gay T 19.65

100m WR is 9.69 which puts a different look on it. 9.69 vs 9.77 (Gay) is closer, however we cannot forget the manner in which the 9.69 was set!

I think his start is ok.

On the matter of Gay vs Bolt, I can't see past Bolt.

I seriously think Gay could beat him if Bolt doesn't work on his start. On the other side Bolt is built to break world record, the share size of him.

I think both Gay and Bolt will be hitting form around the right time so it should be interesting. But I still cant see past Bolt. His 200m in Lausanne was very impressive. I can see Bolt setting another 2 world records in the world championships, just my opinion.

Bolt by a reasonable distance n the 200 and by a tight margin in the 100.

Round 1 tonight? What I'd like to see happening (to set up a brilliant World Champs) is for Gay to get away, Bolt to close but miss out by millimetres. What I think will happen is that Gay will get away but Bolt will catch him and beat him, but not by too much.

    Thoughts???

I agree Bolts starts can be sketchy but he can still start poorly and win.
    Differn't class.
Unbeatable in the world champs, anyone thinks otherwise is a fool.

No round 1 tonight. Bolt in the 100 tonight and Gay (injuries permitting) in the200 tomorrow.

Bolt carries a lot of pressure on his shoulders with the press and everything he does love the attention and handles it very well
While in the world champs all the pressure will be off gay and on bolt to entertain during his races while gay just has to run so maybe Gay will have a slight advantage on the mental side so maybe Gay might cause an upset. I love bolt but also would like to see him bet
To see if he could bounce back like an ultimate athlete cause we already know hes great

reports coming out of Tyson Gay camp suggests he has i little niggle bull or could there be something to this?

    http://www.trackandfieldnews.com/asset/special/2009/T&FN__Tyson_Gay_Injury_Rumor/Agent_Mark_Wetmore__Injury_Not_Serious.html

    Seems very convenient

He always seems to be getting these niggles at this stage of the season..three years in a row now he has pulled something at this stage. He usually comes good though but his variation of times throughout the season can be staggering.
How about opening with 19.5..where do you go with that?
I think he is the more complete 200m runner..his bend is phenomenal while that gangly Usain just has stride!
Berlin...Bolt for 100m and Tyson Gay for 200m.

watch this space bolt through the rounds in the 100m will decide where the gold is going.
